SOCIAL PROJECTS
By means of the Social Foundation, the Columbus School seeks to involve its Alumni with the Foundation´s activities in its different social responsibility projects.
AN ACTIVE ALUMNI
How can I become involved in social projects led by the School? The Columbus School Solidary Foundation holds several social activities throughout the year which any Alum can join.
SISTER SCHOOL PROGRAM
This program supports rural schools with the purpose of providing support in professional development, sports, cultural and recreational activities, support to parents and students and endowment in didactic material for the schools.
SPONSOR PLAN
This is the emblem program for the Foundation and is the one where parents, students and teachers and school administrators contribute voluntarily to the scholarship fund, whose main purpose is to provide possibilities of study for youngsters from our sister schools. Up to date, 250 students have experienced this benefit, through the Sponsor Plan.
SUMMER CAMP PROGRAM
This program provides children and youngsters from institutions in strata 1 and 2, the opportunity to enjoy a week of fun and educational activities with sports. We also promote values such as tolerance and respect. Participation and team work are also important.
JOHN K. SCHOBER SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
The Columbus School contributes to higher education (Technology and University levels) for the children of our Maintenance personnel and Secretaries. This program is currently in place in our sister schools as well.
BROCHAZOS DE AMOR (STROKES OF LOVE)
In a "shoulder to shoulder" work done by parents, students, Alumni, teachers, administrators and representatives from the community that will be beneficiary of the project, these people dedicate time to the external improvement of homes of some of the less favored neighborhoods in our city (Strata 1 and 2). The activities done are: plastering, architectural painting and artistic painting.
CHRISTMAS PARTY AND CAMPAIGN
Every year, at the end of the month of November and the beginning of December, we collect new toys among the Columbus School community, which are destined for the children of a selected foundation in the city and for the children of the Maintenance workers.
Our traditional Christmas party, celebrated on the last day of classes, is a special opportunity to share with the children from a selected institution from the city. It is a unique opportunity to share surprises, candy and gifts, apart from welcoming the most beautiful time of year by showing our committed and Solidary spirit.
