SPORTS PROGRAM

The Columbus School sports program is concerned with providing students with as much encouragement as possible to adopt physical activity and sports as the best option during their time of leisure. Bearing this in mind, the program involves two major fronts: the curricular area, ie: physical education classes, and extracurricular activities or sports Club.

Student Profile

PHYSICAL EDUCATION CLASSES (P.E.)

Part of the curricular program with sports and physical activity are subjects under the academic curriculum. Classes are taught twice a week and vary according to each school.

The main purpose of this program is to offer through sports, practical tools for students to acquire skills and abilities (coordination, balance, flexibility, strength, endurance, etc.) allowing them a successful practice of sports.

The Columbus School incentivates students to search for scholarships in sports in universities in the United States.

THE COLUMBUS SCHOOL SPORTS CLUB

The mission of the Sports Club is to promote, direct, develop and ensure the practice of sports. This is reflected in student participation in social and civic activities, in official championships and different types of organized competitions at regional, national and international levels. In addition, our Club develops other activities such as recreation and use of free time.

The School offers students a high variety of sport disciplines in extracurricular schedules (soccer, basketball, volleyball, track, baseball, gym, skating and BMX, among others), in which students voluntarily participate to create different sports teams that represent our institution in local, national and international tournaments and competitions.
